UVA Pep Band Kicked Out Again on Ousting Anniversary

Five years ago Thursday the University of Virginia kicked its pep band out of Scott Stadium and away from varsity athletics, thanks to an infamous West Virginia skit. Thursday, the band marked the ousting with a brief concert in the University Amphitheatre.
Then the band was kicked out again when the university said the band didn't have the amphitheatre reserved and the music was disturbing classes.
"We just want to say that we're still here, we're not dead yet," said Alexander Houck, UVA Pep Band Director. "We're an organization that has a very proud history, and a very hopeful present and future, and we're here to stay, we're always going to support UVA."
Band members hope to again be an officially sanctioned university organization.
