Pep Band to Play at Washington

Alumni May Play with Pep Band
on
the Field at RFK!

Greetings Friends,
We are excited to announce that Friends of the Virginia
Pep Band and the U.Va. Club of
Washington are teaming up to co-sponsor "U.Va.
Day" with the Washington Nationals on Saturday September 10! The
nationally televised game versus the Atlanta Braves will take place at
RFK Stadium at 1:20 pm. The
Virginia Pep Band will entertain fans with a performance at the game.
The Pep Band will perform on the field for ten
minutes about 30 minutes before the first pitch. The
Pep Band has submitted a script to the Nationals, which is under
review.
A large block of tickets near the band has been
reserved for our group. The tickets are available at the discounted
price of $12.50 (compared to a regular price of $15.00). This is an
off-week for U.Va. football, so you
have nothing better to do!

order your tickets ASAP and no later than Aug. 27. Ticket
supplies are limited, so please purchase your tickets early.
Feel free to extend this ticket offer to any family, friends, or other
acquaintances. (Our goal is to sell out our allotment of tickets so
that the Pep Band can do this again in the future!)
A total of 25 Pep Band alumni are welcome to play with
the band on the field! Alumni who want to perform must buy your
ticket as online, then contact
cvv5j@cms.mail.virginia.edu with the instrument you play and
whether you need to borrow an instrument, music, or vest. The
list of 25 performing alumni will be filled on a first come, first
served basis. Don't delay!
PLEASE NOTE: All alumni who want to perform with
the Pep Band at the Nats game
must commit to attend one practice before the game either (1)
with the Pep Band in Charlottesville or (2) with
FVPB in Northern Virginia,
depending on which is more convenient. The
FVPB practice in Northern Virginia
will probably be held in the evening during the week of September 6 in
the Vienna area. Details regarding exact time and location will be
provided.
We are looking forward to this fantastic event for the
Pep Band and U.Va. alumni, and hope
to see you there!
