10-27-03 FVPB Receives Approval from IRS as a Tax
Exempt 501(c)(3) Organization!
Friends of the Virginia Pep Band, Inc. (FVPB) is pleased to
announce that FVPB is exempt from federal income taxation as a
charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the federal Internal
Revenue Code.
FVPB's tax exempt status means that donors may deduct contributions to
FVPB from their taxable income.
Although the IRS made its determination by letter dated October 14,
2003, FVPB's status applies *retroactively* to all contributions made
after May 30, 2003.
All persons who have previously made contributions should have or will
soon receive a receipt from FVPB that they can use to substantiate their
contributions for tax purposes. If you have questions about the
